SAHS softball defeats the Jets (05/17/06)

MONROE — South Adams needed just one inning to turn a three-run deficit into a three-run lead.
The Starfire softball team scored six times in the third inning in a 7-4 victory over the Adams Central Jets Tuesday. The victory improved South Adams to 4-3 in the Allen County Athletic Conference and 8-12 overall.
Maranda Potts finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run, and Amber Melick had two hits, two RBIs and a run. Lacy Rhoades added two hits, and Ashton Morgan scored a pair of runs.
Morgan picked up her second win of the year, giving up four runs on seven hits. She struck out two and walked three.

BERNE — Jordan Sharp gave the Starfires their only run in the first inning in a 5-1 loss to the Adams Central Jets.
Sharp doubled and scored in the bottom of the first inning, but Adams Central immediately tied the game in the top of the second. The score remained even until the Jets scored two runs in the sixth and seventh innings for the final margin.
Brent Habegger had the lone South Adams RBI, and Thomas Masterson added two hits.
Will Grandlinard gave up five runs — two earned — on six hits for the Starfires (9-7, 3-4 ACAC). He walked two and struck out seven.[[In-content Ad]]
