Recycling
The Jay County Solid Waste District will have four recycling trailers out today.
The trailers will be located:
•At Bloomfield Elementary School from 8 to 11 a.m., and will be staffed by PTO members.
•Across from the fire station in Pennville from 8 to 11 a.m. Members of Boy Scout Troop 212 will staff the trailer.
•In the LoBill Foods parking lot in Portland from 9 a.m. to noon. This trailer is staffed by the Madison Go-Getters 4-H Club.
•In the Will’s Market parking lot in Redkey from 9 a.m. to noon. This trailer will be staffed by members of Boy Scout Troop 214.
Blood drive
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Friday, Dec. 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wal-Mart in Portland.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health. First-time and repeat donors are urged to make appointments to ensure adequate help and supplies. Some form of identification is required.
To make an appointment, call the Red Cross at (800) GIVE-LIFE.
Counterfeit
Employees of the First Bank of Berne in Portland alerted Portland police Friday after finding five counterfeit $100 bills in money delivered to the bank from Brinks.
The counterfeit bills were reported to police at 3:28 p.m. Friday.

James Dean Enyart, 34, Shelbyville, a Jay County native.

Partly cloudy skies should prevail today and tonight, with highs in the upper 20s.
Lows tonight will be in the mid 20s.
Sunday should warm up a bit, with highs in the mid 40s under partly cloudy skies.
Lows Sunday night will be in the lower 30s.
On Monday, look for mostly cloudy conditions, with a 30 percent chance of light rain. Highs should be in the lower 40s.
