THEFT
A Portland man reported an item stolen from his front porch on sometime this week.
Rick Shirk, 101 Green Park Drive, told Portland Police that sometime between early Monday morning and 3:30 p.m. Thursday a decorative boot scraper that is shaped like a dog was missing from his front porch. Shirk said the scraper was black, cast iron and had the name Shirk painted on the top.
The value of the item was estimated at $75.
CRIMESTOPPERS
Jay County CrimeStoppers is looking for information on the theft of approximately $2,400 stolen from a rural Portland business during a burglary that occurred sometime Thursday night or Friday morning.
An employee of 4TC Corporation, 2698 North U.S. 27, reported the burglary about 7:30 a.m. Friday.
A window on the north side of the building was broken to gain entry.
The money was in a cash box and was taken from an unlocked drawer.
According to the Jay County police report, the theft occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.
