More missing
Three more Portland residents reported thefts of lawn ornaments Thursday in a rash of bizarre incidents.
Kyle Stoner, 1147 W. Arch St., contacted Portland police at 1:20 p.m. Thursday to report that a small rain gauge that featured an angel and a silver gazing ball had been stolen from his lawn.
Bernardine Derrickson, 1110 N. Franklin St., reported the theft of a hummingbird feeder, a decorative stone, and an easel from her yard.
The theft was reported at 6:40 p.m. Thursday.
Carolyn Geesaman, 219 Floral Ave., contacted Portland police at 7:52 p.m. Thursday to report the theft of a gazing ball shaped like a snail and two solar lights.
This brings the number of lawn ornament theft incidents in the past week to more than 20.
Bicycle found
A men's green and blue Columbia Pro Mountain 18-speed bicycle was found on a sidewalk in the 300 block of North Commerce Street Thursday evening and was turned over to Portland police.
Tires slashed
Caleb Rouch, 532 N. Western Ave., reported to Portland police about 5:10 p.m. Thursday that the tires on his vehicle had been slashed over night.
To market
A Farmers' Market will be held today at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St., Portland.
The market will be held each Saturday afternoon through Oct. 25, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Items available at the market may include produce, fruits, berries, flowers, candles, soap and other homegrown or home-crafted items.

The Jay County Solid Waste District will have four recycling trailers Saturday:
•Marsh Hometown Market, Portland, 9 a.m.-noon. Girl Scout Troop 812.
•Will's Market, Redkey, 8 a.m.-noon. Redkey Optimist Club.
•Across from the Pennville Fire Station, 8-11 a.m. Girl Scout Troop 811.
