A rural Portland man was arrested Friday afternoon by Indiana State Police on several felony charges.

Dennis Boolman, 46, 1697 South 300 West, was arrested for intimidation with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon, both class C felonies, and pointing a firearm and intimidation, both class D felonies.

Boolman allegedly went to 1313 S. Blaine Pike, Portland, at 8 a.m. Friday. While there, he allegedly pointed a handgun at a man, threatened him and his family, and hit the man with the gun.

He was being held in the Jay County Jail Friday night with no bond set.

Boolman has no bond because he was already out on bond for another crime, police said.[[In-content Ad]]
