Robert Whisler
Jan. 16, 1925-March 11, 2010
Robert M. Whisler, 85, Berne, relative of area residents, died Thursday at Adams Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
A native of Hancock County, he was the son of Charles and Lola K. (Keller) Whisler. He was married Jan. 16, 1945, to Rowene Zuercher, who survives.
An attendee of First Missionary Church, Berne, he had been retired 22 years as a truck driver for Dallas Mavis Trucking.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, including Ken R. Whisler, Geneva, two daughters, five granddaughters, six grandsons, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Church, with the Rev. Kris McPherson and the Rev. Gareth Wiederkehr officiating. Interment will be in the M.R.E. Cemetery, rural Berne.
Calling will be Sunday from 2-7 p.m. at Yager Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
