Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schoenlein, 233 E. High St., Portland, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland. A reception will follow at the Fort Recovery American Legion.
Louis married Mary Jean Mestemaker on April 29, 1947, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Burkettsville, Ohio.
Mary retired as lady matron of Zion Lutheran Church in Portland, after 23 years. Louis retired as a custodian and bus driver for the Jay School Corporation. He also retired from farming .
They are the parents of Rebecca Eley, Portland; Dr. James Schoenlein, Dayton, Ohio; Rick Schoenlein, Noblesville; Letha Lare, Madison; Mrs. Yvonne Wells Scheib, Brookville; and Tony Schoenlein, Indianapolis. They have 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.[[In-content Ad]]
