School bus program to be held at library

Jay County Public Library will have its annual “Don’t Miss the Bus!” program for incoming kindergarten students on Monday, Aug. 15, beginning at 10 a.m.
Students who will ride the bus to school and a parent or caregiver are invited to the library to ride a bus to Bloomfield Elementary to spend time in teacher Carolyn Scott’s classroom and return back to the library.

Project produce
The Helping Hand Food Bank in Portland is accepting donations of fresh produce from gardens as part of “Project Produce.”
Food may be dropped off at the food bank at 521 S. Wayne St. Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
