Mr. and Mrs. Don Selvey, 10970 West 600 South, Redkey, will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Thursday, June 5.
Don married Gladys Annette Johnston in the First Christian Church, Greensburg, on June 5, 1953.
They are the parents of Lea (wife Denise) Selvey, Redkey; and Mrs. Mark (Linda) Brackman, Redkey. They have five grandchildren.
Both are retired teachers. Don taught and coached for two years in Randolph County and then for 38 years in Jay County. Gladys taught for one year at Greendale Elementary School and then for 38 years in Albany Elementary School.
Don is a World War II, U.S. Navy veteran and an atomic bomb experiment veteran. He is active in the Redkey Lions Club and is currently the assistant baseball coach at Jay County High School.
The couple is the 3G’s Tour Club organizers.
An open house celebration will be held Sunday, June 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the West Jay Community Center, Dunkirk, for family and friends.[[In-content Ad]]
