Taking Note
A television show on HGTV is looking for homes with intriguing pasts and unusual stories in Jay County and surrounding areas.
The weekly series, "If Walls Could Talk," which airs each Sunday on the home and garden channel, is looking for homeowners who make surprising historical discoveries about their homes as they explore and restore them.
Homeowners who would like to be considered for the program should contact Sara Adams at (303) 712-3125 or email [email protected].
Discussion groups
Jay County Public Library has announced discussion group times for participants in the Jay County Reads Jacquelyn Mitchard program.
Anyone reading a book by Mitchard may join the groups on Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m.; Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.; Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.; Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. and Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. All groups will meet in the community room at JCPL.
Paperback copies of Mitchard's books may be purchased at the library. "The Breakdown Lane," "Theory of Relativity," and "Twelve Times Blesses" are available for $3 and "Cage of Stars" and "Deep End of the Ocean" are available for $6. Books are also available for checkout.

Easter Seals Walk
Ella Grace Douglass, the 2-year-old granddaughter of Portland residents Jill and Earl Douglass, has been chosen as one of three ambassadors for "Easter Seals Walk With Me" on Saturday Sept. 8, at Lawton Park/Science Central in Fort Wayne.
"Team Ella" has been formed to walk for the benefit. Anyone wishing to join the team may call Jill at (260) 729-2903.
Ella, who has cerebral palsy, is the daughter of Magan Douglass, Fort Wayne.[[In-content Ad]]
