Shreve wins four for EJ

BERNE - Zane Shreve was unstoppable Thursday, winning four individual events to lead the East Jay Middle School boys track team 67-43 over host South Adams. The Chief girls also defeated the Starfires, 70-39.
Shreve did it all, posting wins in sprints, hurdles and jumps. He finished first in the 100-meter dash in 14.04 seconds, the 110 hurdles in 18.15, the long jump at 14 feet, 11 ½ inches and the high jump at 5 feet, 4 inches.
Brody Shane nearly matched Shreve with three victories for South Adams. His wins came in the 400 dash in 1 minute, 4 seconds, the 800 run in 2:33 and the 1,600 run by 30 seconds in 5:15.
Malarie Houck and Abigail Johnson each won a pair of events to lead the East Jay girls. Houck was first in the 100 hurdles in 18.03 and the 200 dash in 29.8, and Johnson won the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches and the 1,600 run in 6:06.
Other wins for the EJMS boys came from Zach Fullenkamp (100 dash), Carson Blowers (shot put) and Michael Bruggeman (discus). Kyle Cox took the 200 hurdles for the Starfires.
Adding victories for the East Jay girls were Tasya Smith (100 dash), Amber Huelskamp (400 dash), Emi Minnich (800 run) and Megan Stocker (discus).Wins for the SAMS girls came from Makayla Rupp (200 hurdles), Hannah Taing (shot put) and Alaina Johnston (long jump).[[In-content Ad]]
