Snyder resigns as Fort principal (03/31/06)
By By BETH A. CLAYTON-
FORT RECOVERY — Ed Snyder, principal of Fort Recovery High School, announced his retirement to students and staff Thursday.
“It seemed like the right time for me,” said Snyder who has served as principal for 15 years. “Things are going well in the school, things are going well in the district, and things are going well for me, so it seemed like a good time to look at other options.”
Snyder, who has a daughter enrolled at Fort Recovery High School and is a Fort Recovery native said he has no intentions of leaving the area, and added that his future plans are wide open.
“It’s tough to make a decision to do something new,” said the 1971 Fort high school graduate. “I’ve lived here a long, long time and don’t want to leave.”
Riel said that while he was aware that Snyder’s retirement was an option as Snyder finishes his 30th year with Fort Recovery Schools, the announcement was a surprise.
Snyder’s retirement will be effective July 31.
Riel said he would meet with the Fort Recovery School Board in April to discuss hiring strategies.
“I certainly want to end on a good note and help make the transition a smooth one,” said Snyder.[[In-content Ad]]
