Social worker month set (3/30/04)
Taking Note
In recognition of National Social Worker Month, licensed social workers from State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice would like to share about the important role a social worker plays in the care of hospice patients and families.
Hospice social workers draw the patient and their family together so they receive the support necessary as they face end of life issues.
Social workers work together with nurses, home health aids, chaplains and volunteers. They also facilitate care giving support groups and grief support groups.
State of the Heart provides home health, private duty, hospice and bereavement care to patients and support to their families throughout Mercer, Darke, Auglaize, Preble, Randolph and Jay counties.
DEAN’S LIST
Tony Homan, son of Rick and Cathy Homan, Bryant, made the dean’s list for the winter quarter at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute. He is majoring in computer engineering.
