South Adams battles for win

The seventh grade Starfires hung tough and managed to get a win over West Jay Middle School in three games.
After falling in a 25-23 game one, the Stars clinched game two in a close 25-24. South Adams took control of the deciding game, dropping West Jay 15-9.
Madalyn Wurster had nine aces and four digs and Julia Grabau pounded five aces and had six digs.
The eight grade team handled West Jay 25-13, 25-14. The Starfires aced the Eagles, with Abby Myers collecting seven aces, Caralie Farlow had six and Morgan Alberson pounded out five.
Tennis shut out
The boys varsity team only won a single game against Leo as it fell 5-0.
Jared Rife got the one game for the Starfires (4-7) at No. 3 singles, while every other match ended 6-0, 6-0.
The JV team was blanked 3-0. No. 2 singles player Cody Baker and No. 3 singles Brett Litwiller both fell by scores of 8-3.
Volleyball loses
South Adams varsity volleyball suffered another loss Thursday, going down in straight games to an aggressive Norwell team.
The Starfires fell 25-16, 25-12, 25-12. Cady Farlow had a kill, three digs and four assists and Cindy In’t Groen notched two blocks and three digs.
The JV team also fell, but forced three games before eventually being knocked off by the Knights 25-7, 22-25, 15-12.[[In-content Ad]]
