South Adams falls to Jets (05/11/07)

MONROE - South Adams' baseball team managed just three hits Thursday and couldn't take advantage of three errors by the Adams Central Jets in a 5-2 loss.
The Starfires gave up two runs in the opening inning and trailed throughout. Daniel Bollenbacher allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight as he went the distance.
Jordan Steiner paced SAHS, which scored its two runs in the fifth inning, with a hit and a run. Otis Mitchel scored the other Starfire run, and Jordan Sharp and Ethan Sharp added one hit apiece.
Gerber paces WJ girls
PONETO - Macey Gerber and Kyli Kelso were each in on two of the West Jay Middle School wins as the Eagle girls track team scored 54 points Thursday to knock off Montpelier and host Southern Wells.
Gerber's individual win came in the 200-yard dash, and Kelso took the top spot in the long jump. Kelso and Gerber also teamed with Ashley Franklin and Paige Alsip for first place in the 4x100 relay.
Megan J. Price won the 1,600 run, and Liz Lennartz topped the field in the 400 dash.[[In-content Ad]]
