South Adams rolls over UC Westside (02/17/06)

UNION CITY — The Starfires were dominant again Thursday.

With half of its eight pins coming in less than one minute, the South Adams Middle School wrestling team clobbered Union City Westside 74-24.

Caleb Moreno (175) had the shortest stint on the mat, pinning Seth Fields in 31 seconds. Josh Ehr (94) finished his match in 42 seconds, Todd Batt (75) scored a pin in 46 seconds and John Strike (120) walked away with a victory after 48 seconds.

Also adding pins for South Adams were Gabe Sprunger (80), Stuart Poulson (110), T.J. Burnfield (135) and Stephen Horton (160). Jordan Landers (90) won by a 15-0 technical fall, and Dusty Hunt (115) took a 10-5 decision.

Eagles score split

LYNN — The West Jay Middle School wrestling team came away with a win and a loss Thursday. It defeated Randolph Southern 48-18, but lost 81-6 to Winchester Driver.

Justin Ellis led the Eagle victory over Randolph Southern, winning his 135-pound match in 19 seconds. Sam Pitman (80) needed just 32 seconds for his victory.

Also scoring pins were Nathan Drumm (105), Chris Penrod (95) and Drake Meska (100).

Dillon Easton had the lone victory against Driver, scoring a pin in 3:44.

EJ defeats Wilson

Muncie Wilson went home a loser Thursday as the East Jay Middle School wrestling team rolled to a 66-28 victory.

Coming away with wins for the Chiefs were Matt Seagraves (80), Zac Somers (90), Heng Hong (95), Kyle Davidson (105), Hai Hong (110) and D.J. Teeple (115). Also adding victories were Scott Houston (135), Nick Stephen (145), Allen Spahr (152), Dylan Hutzler (160) and Jake Boyer (175).[[In-content Ad]]
