South Adams tankers roll over Giants (11/23/05)

MARION — Haleigh Lehman and Jessica Sharp each came up with a pair of victories as the South Adams girls swim team topped Marion 119-61 Tuesday.
Lehman and Sharp led the Starfires, who won six of eight individual events. They were also each in on two of South Adams’ three winning relays.
Lehman, a junior, picked up her first victory by nearly seven seconds as she finished the 100-yard butterfly in 1-minute, 8.55 seconds. She won the 100 backstroke by four seconds in 1:11.66.
Sharp controlled the long distance races, leading sweeps in both the 200 and 500 freestyle.
The freshman won the 200 by exactly three seconds over teammate Talitha Maven in 2:17.47, and took first in the 500 in 6:11.28.
Megan Myers added a win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 28.87, and Margaret Beymer took the 100 freestyle in 1:03.61.

DECATUR — The Jay County Winter Swim Team improved to 2-0 Tuesday with a 520-168 victory over host Bellmont.
Nine different swimmers won three events for Jay County as the team took 37 out of 48 individual events.
Three of the team’s nine triple winners came in the 9-10-year-old division. Caitlin Mark took the girls long freestyle, breaststroke and short freestyle, Rylee Clemmons won the girls butterfly, backstroke and individual medley and Levi Hummel finished first in the boys butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke.
Also added three wins apiece were Sok Vormohr, Adam Young, Mary Hudson, Richard Osterholt, Alyssa Extin and Caitlin Ruchgy.
Brown, Lancaster win
NOBLESVILLE — Alan Brown and Andrew Lancaster each finished undefeated as the Jay County junior varsity wrestling team opened its season at the Noblesville Invitational Saturday.
Brown rolled to the 145-pound title with a 3-0 record. Lancaster went 2-0 for the 160-pound championship.
Also finishing with winning records were Corbin Huftel (119) and Aaron Brenner (145), both at 2-1.[[In-content Ad]]
