Spelling bee winners announced (02/07/07)

Spelling Bee winners were recently named at area schools.

The winner at East Elementary School was Danielle Sullivan. She is a fifth grade student in Mrs. Sharon Davis' class and the daughter of Danny and Lisa Sullivan, Portland. The runner-up was Collin Saxman.

The winner at Pennville Elementary was Kelsey Smith. She is a fifth grade student and the daughter of Angie Smith, Pennville. Ashley Motter was the runner-up.

Sullivan and Smith will compete in the Regional Spelling Bee on March 3 in Muncie.



College Goal Sunday

College Goal Sunday, a program that provides free expert help completing the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) for high school seniors and their parents, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m.

Parents must have a completed 2006 IRS 1040 tax return, W-2 forms or other 2006 income and benefits information.
