Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Spencer, 1400 S. Meridian St., Portland, celebrated their 25th anniversary on Tuesday, June 24.
Don married Jane Ann Pratt on June 24, 1978, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Portland.
They are the parents of Nathaniel W. Spencer, Portland; and Mary E. Spencer, Portland.
The couple are the owners of Williamson and Spencer Funeral Homes in Portland and Pennville.
Don is a retired teacher, retiring from the U.S. Department of Defense after teaching high school business in Japan. He is now in his 30th year of service as a funeral director, in which he is the third generation of his family in this occupation.
Jane is also a retired teacher having taught for 18 years at General Shanks Elementary School. She currently serves as a Jay County Historian through the Indiana State Historical Society.
Both are members of the Asbury United Methodist Church and are active in the community.
They will celebrate with a family gathering and a trip through the New England states in the fall.[[In-content Ad]]
