'Spin-in set'

Taking Note

What is a spin-in?

It’s a time and place for spinners and fiber people from all over the area to meet and spin and talk and shop.

Sponsored by the Jay County Visitor and Tourism Bureau, the spin-in will be held Saturday, March 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jay County Fairgrounds in the 4-H building.

This event will feature fiber artists of all kinds having spinning, weaving, needle felting and batik demonstrations.

Vendors will display wool, mohair, angora, flax, alpaca, cotton, silk and buffalo.

There will be items for sale, sweaters yarn, homemade soap, and equipment for fiber crafting needs.

You can bring raw wool or other fibers to be washed and processed.

This will be done by the Wooly Knob Fiber Mill.

Admission is free and food will be provided by the 4-H Rabbit Club.

There will also be entertainment and door prizes.

Bring your favorite material from an old blanket, dress, or other item to be made into a “Memory Bear.”

There will also be a book signing with Cynthia Mustaine Hetinger and her pigmy goat Doc.

For vendor information, contact Julie Davidson at (260) 244-1905. For more information call the Jay County Visitor and Tourism Bureau at (260) 726-3366 or (877) 726-4481.
