Spooktacular event on Saturday
Taking Note
The Jay County Civic Theatre will have a Spooktacular event and Zombie Walk on Saturday in the Farmer’s Building at theJay County Fairgrounds.
JCHS Thespians will be having make-up sessions from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for a $5 fee. A blood bath will be available for $1. Bring a t-shirt for event stencil and blood bath.
A Zombie Walk will begin at 11 a.m. and loop through Portland and a Scary Mary and Larry Contest and games and activies will be at noon.
Carol Knarr, professional storyteller, will tell Spooky Stories of Indiana at 2 p.m.
From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., State Police will be finger printing children and the Jay County Humane Shelter will have pets available for adoption. Admission is $1 and a canned food item.
Oktoberfest
The Jay County High School German Club is hosting its annual Oktoberfest on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the south hallway of the school.
Bratwurst, potato salad, black forest cake and apple strudel will be available for sale.
