St. Henry smacks FR

FRHS baseball

ST. HENRY, Ohio — Back-to-back MAC wins were not in the cards for the Tribe.
After earning its first Midwest Athletic Conference victory since 2008 Tuesday over New Knoxville, the Fort Recovery High School baseball team fell 10-1 Thursday to the St. Henry Redskins.
The game was tied at 1-1 through four innings before St. Henry (8-9, 3-3 MAC) scored eight times in the bottom of the fifth to take control.
Kent Retz suffered the loss, giving up six runs on nine hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. Hayden Pottkotter allowed four runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief.
Pottkotter led the Indians (7-13, 1-5 MAC) at the plate with a single and an RBI. Blake Boughman had a double, and Ryan Gaerke scored the lone FRHS run.

FORT RECOVERY — The Indians went hitless Thursday as they lost 14-0 in five innings to the St. Henry Redskins.
St. Henry (12-4, 4-1 MAC) grabbed the lead in a hurry, scoring five times in the top of the first inning. It added another five runs in the third.
Beca Tobe gave up 13 runs — 10 earned — on 11 hits and six walks in 2 2/3 innings. Cassidy Rammel allowed one run in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
Karissa Will, Taylor Guggenbiller, Jackie Fullenkamp and Tobe all drew walks for Fort Recovery.

JV baseball loses
FORT RECOVERY — The Tribe couldn’t slow down the St. Henry Redskins’ offense Thursday as it fell 12-2 in five innings.
St. Henry scored three times in the first inning, six in the third and three in the fourth as they dropped the Indians to 1-17 on the year.
Ray Siefring took the loss, giving up 12 runs — nine earned — on seven hits and three walks.
Cole Wendel went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Ryan Muhlenkamp added two hits, and Derek Backs scored twice.
