Starfires fall vs. Oak Hill, Marion (02/10/04)

The South Adams boys swim team finished third in a meet with Oak Hill and Marion Monday with 81 points. Marion edged the Starfires for second with 86 points, and Oak Hill was first with 156.

Heath Lehman scored the lone win for South Adams, taking the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.45.

The Starfires will host East Noble and Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

FR splits with Tigers

Fort Recovery’s junior high boys basketball teams split their games with the Versailles Tigers Monday. The eighth grade team came away with a 40-35 victory, but the seventh graders suffered a 31-26 defeat.

The eighth grader Indians were up by four at halftime and increased the lead to 34-25 with one quarter to play. Versailles tried to rally, but Fort Recovery held on for the win.

Clint Tobe paced the Indians with 15 points and seven rebounds, both team highs. Bobby Rammel followed with 10 points.

Fort Recovery’s seventh graders fell behind 12-2 after one quarter and couldn’t completely come back.

Toby Metzger finished with eight points and six rebounds. Jordan Hess, Wes Kahlig and Tom Will each contributed four points.

Advance tickets for Fort Recovery’s upcoming boys basketball games against Versailles and Houston will go on sale Thursday.

Tickets for both games will be available in the high school office Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The will also be sold in the middle school office Friday from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Advance tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the door will be $5.[[In-content Ad]]
