Steins celebrate 50th
Former Portland residents Robert “Bob” and Beverly “Ann” Stein, Marion, Ill., are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland.
Bob retired from IBM. Ann’s family were former owners of Olson Flower Nook on East Main Street in Portland and Olson Dairy on West Main Street in Portland.
They are the parents of Melvin Stein, Bryant; Bevan Stein, a missionary in Slovakia; and Annamarie Hamilton, Tulsa, Okla. They also have 11 grandchildren.
