Story times at JCPL

Story times for preschool age children are held each Monday and Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at Jay County Public Library.
Mondays with Miss Linda are Sept. 12, 19 and  26 and Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
Tuesdays with Miss Mary are Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27  and Oct. 1, 11, 18 and 25.
Also the first after school special for children kindergarten through fifth grade at JCPL is Friday, Sept. 9, from 2:45 to 4 p.m.
Snacks are served, a book is shared and a craft or two is completed. To register, call (260) 726-7890.
Upcoming specials will be Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 16. Registrations will be taken the first day of each month.
The book discussion group at JCPL will discuss “Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand” by Helen Simonson on Monday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m.
On Monday, Oct. 17, the group will discuss “Mennonite in a Little Black Dress” by Rhoda Janzen.

Trucks and tractors
A truck and tractor pull will be held Saturday at Swiss Heritage Village & Museum in Berne.
Weigh-in will begin at 4 p.m. and pulling starts at 6 p.m.
The World’s Greatest Classic Car Show to visit Berne will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the village in Berne when cars visit on their way to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival.
