Story times scheduled (02/27/08)

Jay County Public Library will have story times on Monday, March 3, 10 and 17 at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, March 4, 11 and 18 at 1 p.m. They will last approximately 45 minutes and will include four or five books read aloud, followed by a craft. Children and infants are invited and must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Fun Time will be Thursday, March 6, and 20 at 9:30 a.m. There will be stories, toys, music and conversation.

The Book Reading group will read Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen in March. The novel recounts the wild and wonderful period Jacob Jankowski spent with the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

The group meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the library. Registration is necessary.

An LCD projector is available for use in the library's meeting rooms. It can be used for a DVD, VCR or computer. Other audio-visual equipment is available at the library, including an overhead projector, slide projector, 16mm projector and a free-standing screen.

A $25 deposit and a library card are required to use the equipment.

Internet for Beginners classes for adults will be held Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. and Thursday, March 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is required.

Genealogy classes will be held Tuesday, March 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants must have computer skills and bring names and dates to look up. Registration is required.

A hands-on knitting program will be held March 10 and 17 at 7 p.m. at the library. Martha Read and Gretchen Young will show how to cast-on, knit, purl stitch and cast-off.

The class is for adults, teens and children accompanied by an adult. Bring a pair of needles and yarn. Registration is required by calling (260) 726-7890.
