Storyteller to speak
Taking note
A professional storyteller will perform on Sunday from 2:30 to 3 p.m. at Mangino’s Restaurant, 224 S. Meridian St. in Portland.
Carol Knarr, the theatre director at Jay County High School, has been telling stories professionally for more than 10 years.
Knarr was an instructor at South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute in Phoenix where she taught “The Art of Storytelling” and “Storytelling in Educational Settings.”
She has performed at The Mesa Storytelling Festival in Mesa, Ariz. and The Pine Storytelling Festival in Pine, Ariz. and most recently wrote a weekly article about storytelling for The Post and Mail in Columbia City.
Knarr moved to Indiana in 2009 for be near her parents and began teaching at JCHS this year. She will offer a storytelling course this year at the school.
