Alumni to meet
A Portland High School alumni meeting will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at Medler's Furniture Store in Portland. A 1962 alumni meeting will follow at 7 p.m. For more information, call Judy Toms-Medler at (260) 726-9341 or (260) 726-7209.
Giving seminar
The Portland Foundation will sponsor a Planned Giving for Charitable Organizations seminar on Thursday in Portland. The training is free and designed for executive directors. staff and board members of charitable organizations.
The event will be held at White Linen Hall, 121 N. Meridian St., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with lunch being served.
Topics to be discussed include:
Hot topics in planned giving: gift annuities, charitable trusts, IRA rollovers, etc.
Basic fundraising principles and techniques.
Planning a fundraising campaign.
Partnering with the community foundation.
Fundraising for charitable endowments.
Legal issues in fundraising: non-cash gifts, pledges, receipts, donor restrictions, etc.

To graduate
Tricia Walter, Muncie, a former Portland resident, plans to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Northwood University in Midland, Mich. in May with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
She is the daughter of former Portland residents Emmett and Georgia Walter.
Health fair
Muncie Children's Museum will hold it eighth annual Children's Health Fair on Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will feature 40 health care providers and agencies who will provide free screenings and innoculations. There will be games and clowns and prizes given away.
