Students of the month named at WJMS (03/10/07)
Taking Note
Students of the month for February were recently announced at West Jay Middle School.
In sixth grade was Clayton Scott, the son of Paul and Evelyn Scott.
In seventh grade was Jessica Chittum, the daughter of Teresa and Vince Chittum.
In eighth grade was Amanda Bell, the daughter of Neal and Constancia Bell.
Class reunion
Portland High School class of 1962 will have an organizational meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at Bandido's. For more information, call Judy Toms-Medler at (260) 726-7209.

A short story by former Portland resident Margaret Ronald appears in the winter issue of Fantasy magazine, which is now available on newsstands.
"Bear Lake" is Ronald's second story to be published in Fantasy. Her work has also appeared in Realms of Fantasy, Strange Horizons, and Ideomancer.
A 1999 graduate of Williams College, she is employed in corporate communications and resides in the Boston area.
JCC events
The Jay Community Center in Portland will present two programs on nutrition on Tuesday, March 20. Dietician Katie Redwine will speak on "Proper Nutrition for Preventing Muscle and Bone Loss," for seniors and "Healthy Nutrition and Eating for Weight Loss" for everyone on Tuesday evening.
A program on nutrition for the performance athlete will be held Thursday, March 22.

A fitness class for seniors meets each Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. at JCC.
