Sutter finishes in thrid

COLDWATER, Ohio — Elle Sutter was part of a third-place finish for the Indians on Thursday. She added another on the second day of the Mercer County Meet.
Sutter turned in the top finish for the Fort Recovery High School girls track team as the meet concluded Friday, placing third in the 3,200-meter run.
The Indian girls scored 13 points to finish last in the six-team field. The boys team was shut out.
Sutter was one of three runners to break the 12 minute, 30 second, mark in the 3,200 run, finishing in 12 minutes, 22.27 seconds. She trailed Christine Seas and Jill Kanney, both of Coldwater.
FRHS also posted a third-place finish in the 4x800 relay on the first day of the meet on Thursday.
Derek Sutter was ninth for the Tribe boys in the 3,200 run in 11:31.57.

Baseball falls to Jays
FORT RECOVERY — Fort Recovery led early Friday, but fell 8-2 to the St. John’s Blue Jays.
The Indians, who will play New Bremen in the Division IV sectional tournament at 2:30 p.m. today at Minster, scored one run apiece in the first and second innings for a 2-0 lead. But St. John’s posted four runs in the fourth inning and pulled away for the win.
Jacob Muhlenkamp suffered the loss for FRHS, giving up five runs — four earned — on eight hits and a walk in 3 1/3 innings. Shane Pottkotter gave up two runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
The Blue Jays limited Fort Recovery to just three hits — one each from Jackson Hobbs, Cole Wendel and Muhlenkamp.

MS track wins relay
COLDWATER, Ohio — Fort Recovery Middle School’s girls track won the 4x200-meter relay Friday as it placed fourth out of six teams at the Mercer County Meet.
The girls team scored 67 points to finish ahead of Marion Local and Parkway. The boys team was last with 24 points.
The team of Kiah Wendel, Emily May, Brittany Jutte and Jocelyn Kaiser won the 4x200 relay for the Tribe girls by more than a second, finishing in 2 minutes, 3.71 seconds. Kaiser was also the runner-up in the shot put at 31 feet, 7 1/4 inches.
Angela Heitkamp finished the 1,600 run in 6:06.87 to take second place. She was also third in the 800 run in 2:44.19.
Andrew Stocker led the Fort Recovery boys with his runner-up finish in the shot put on Thursday.[[In-content Ad]]
