Sutter named to All-MAC team

COLDWATER, Ohio — Elle Sutter was named to the All-Midwest Athletic Conference team for the fourth year in a row Wednesday.
Sutter’s fifth-place finish in 19 minutes, 39 seconds, paved the way for the Indians, who were fifth in the eight-team race.
Travis Sutter led the Tribe boys, placing 22nd in 17:51 as Fort Recovery was seventh out of ten teams.
Julie Wendel (21:56 – 46th), Grace Gehle (22:10 – 52nd), Chassity Hemmelgarn (23:34 – 77th) and Christy Garke (23:37 – 78th) rounded out the top five for the Indians, who were without their No. 2 and No. 3 runners, Caitlyn Huelskamp and Angela Heitkamp because of injuries.
Following Travis Sutter for the boys were Isaac Siegrist (18:06 – 27th), Derek Sutter (18:08 – 30th), Joey Gonzalez (18:13 – 33rd) and Sam Huelskamp (19:19 – 63rd).

LYNN — Two players had double-digit kills Thursday as the Jay County volleyball team defeated the Randolph Southern Rebels on Thursday, 25-19, 5-25, 25-20, 25-16.
Kylie Osborne led the Patriots with 13 kills while Bre McIntire added 10. Defensively for Jay County, Malarie Houck had a team-high 11 digs and Abby Wendel added 10.
Lizzy Schoenlein tallied 38 assists from the setter position, while she and Ava Kunkler each added two blocks.
In junior varsity action, the Patriots beat the Rebels 25-16, 25-10. Abby Barcus led Jay County with 10 kills, Lynnae Betz had 12 service points and Alli Campbell tallied 16 assists.[[In-content Ad]]
