Jay County Summer Swim Team
MUNCIE - The Jay County Summer Swim Team suffered its first loss of the season Monday, falling 683-510 to host Catalina.
Five Jay County swimmers won three events apiece while Catalina took the win by scoring victories in 11 of 20 relays and 39 of 60 individual events.
Anne Vormohr and Sophie Bader led Jay County with a sweep of the 9-10-year-old girls events. Bader was first in the butterfly, breaststroke and short freestyle while Vormohr won the long freestyle, backstroke and individual medley.
Sophie Bader took the top spot in the 8-and-younger girls freestyle, individual medley and short freestyle, and Cori Vormohr tallied wins in the 15-and-older girls butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke. Lucas Holcomb was the lone triple winner for the boys as he touched the wall first in the 13-14-year-old boys butterfly, backstroke and short freestyle.
Audrey Shreve added two wins, and single wins came from Adam Young, Zane Shreve, Eme Miller and Mary Hudson.
