Teacher receives a creativity grant
Taking Note
Sally Morrison, a Spanish teacher at South Adams High School in Berne, was awarded a 2010 Teacher Creativity Fellowship grant.
She will spend six weeks this summer in Mexico working with university students who want to improve their conversational English skills, help at an organic coffee farm and assist at a women's weaving cooperative.
Morrison will spend time in Queretaro, Chiapas and Guatemala.
Bee winners
West Jay Middle School recently held its Spelling Bee.
The winner was Trista Vore, the daughter of Robert and Trena Vore.
The runner-up was Daniel Miller, the son of Kile and Michelle Miller.
