Local roundup

INDIANAPOLIS — Craig Teagle will be at the helm in June when a collection of the best players in the state take the court against their Kentucky counterparts.

The Indiana All-Star team will battle Kentucky in the annual doubleheader, which will be played June 8 in Louisville and June 9 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity,” said Teagle this morning. “I feel really honored. I’m really looking forward to working with some of the outstanding coaches and players in the state of Indiana.”
In 14 years at Jay County, Teagle has amassed 199 victories and five sectional titles. He led the Patriots to the Class 3A state championship game in 2006.
He previously coached at Caston and Knox, and is 275-172 in 20 years overall.
Chris Johnson of Homestead and Tom Bradley of Orleans will serve as assistants to Teagle, who was the junior all-star coach in 2009.
