Teeter racks up 33 in loss

Local roundup

BERNE - Nick Teeter turned in another massive scoring effort. It wasn't enough, however, to lift the Starfires to victory.

The South Adams High School boys basketball team had trouble finding consistent offense from anyone other than the senior as it lost 70-59 to the visiting Muncie Burris Owls.

Teeter followed up his 30-point effort Saturday against Daleville scoring 33 points in the loss to Burris. He hit four 3-pointers and also added eight rebounds and four steals for the Starfires.

SAHS (1-2) trailed by six at the half, and fell behind by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter as it shot just 35 percent.

Trevor White Followed Teeter with nine points and 10 rebounds, and Taylor Smith had three assists.

Charles Wolf led the Owls with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Trevor Woodgett and Bryce Rector joined him in double figures with 14 and 11 points respectively.

Nick Batt had 20 points to lead the South Adams junior varsity team to a 50-47 win.

WJ 7th boys victorious

James Williams and Nate Brackman led the West Jay Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team to a 27-26 victory Tuesday over Bluffton.

The eighth grade Eagles lost 45-37.

Kyle Selvey had 11 points for the Eagle eighth grade team. Brock Farmer joined him in double figures with 10 points.

The seventh graders suffered a 33-10 defeat.
