FRHS roundup

ST. HENRY, Ohio — Apparently Olivia Thien was sick of losing.
The Fort Recovery High School senior smacked a pair of home runs Friday night to help the Tribe softball team halt a four-game skid with a 5-4 victory over the St. Henry Redskins.
The Indians (9-11, 2-4 Midwest Athletic Conference) trailed 2-0 after three innings before Thien tied the score with a two-run blast in the fourth. She added another two-run shot in the sixth inning, in which FRHS scored three times to take the lead for good.
Shelby Brunswick supported Thien’s effort by going 2-for-3 with a double, three stolen bases and two runs. Kendra Brunswick walked and scored the other Tribe run, and Olivia Schwieterman, Andi Sutter and Taylor Guggenbiller also added hits.
Andi Sutter gave up just one earned run on eight hits and did not walk a batter. She had a pair of strikeouts in picking up the win.
The Indians host Wapakoneta Monday before playing either Parkway or Lima Central Catholic in sectional championship action Tuesday at Elida.
