Drug sentence
A Hartford City man was sentenced in Jay Superior Court on a drug charge.
Robert L. Duff, 23, was sentenced April 24 for unlawful possession or use of a legend drug, a Class D felony.
He was sentenced to 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 90 days suspended and 90 days credit for time served. He was assessed court costs of $165, was ordered to pay a drug abuse prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $400 and was placed on probation for 15 months.
As part of a plea agreement, a charge of possession of paraphernalia was dismissed.
Duff was found in possession of Zofran on Dec. 6.

Possession sentence
A Redkey man was sentenced on a drug possession charge April 24 in Jay Superior Court.
Steven A. Taylor, 25, was sentenced for possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony.
He was sentenced to 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 90 days suspended and two days credit for time served. He was fined $50 plus court costs of $165, was ordered to pay a drug abuse prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 and was placed on probation for 18 months.
As part of a plea agreement, charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement were dismissed.
Taylor was in possession of prescription medications during a traffic stop in Redkey on June 10.

Drunk carting
A Union City, Ohio, man was sentenced on a felony drunk driving charge April 19.
Brett A. Hartman, 36, was sentenced in Jay Superior Court to operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent of .15  percent or more with a passenger less than 18 years of age, a Class D felony.
He was sentenced to 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 20 days suspended and two days credit for time served. He was fined $100 plus court costs of $165.50, was ordered to pay an alcohol and drug countermeasures fee of $200, was ordered to pay a Jay Superior Court Substance Abuse Program fee of $400, was placed on probation for 180 days and had his license suspended for 180 days.
Hartman was stopped at county road 100 West and 700 South while driving a golf cart. Police found Hartman intoxicated with a 3-year-old passenger.

Two charges
An Ohio man was sentenced on two charges, including one felony.
Caleb W. Gambill Jr., 31, Covington, Ohio, was sentenced April 17 in Jay Superior Court to possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.
As part of a plea agreement, charges of possession of a controlled substance and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent of .15 percent or more were dismissed.
On the operating charge, he was sentenced to 60 days in the Jay County Jail, with all but 30 days suspended. He was fined $100 plus court costs of $165.50, was ordered to pay a Jay Superior Court Substance Abuse Program fee of $400 and had his license suspended for 180 days.
On the possession charge he was sentenced to 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 30 days suspended. The sentences will be served concurrently. He was fined $100, ordered to pay a drug abuse prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200, was placed on probation for 17 months and had his operator’s license, existing motor vehicle registrations and ability to register motor vehicles suspended for six months.
Gambill was stopped at Ind. 26 and 100 East on Nov. 15 while intoxicated. Police also discovered prescription medication in his vehicle.[[In-content Ad]]
