Capsule Reports

Bryant burglaries
Break-ins at two West Main Street homes in Bryant were reported Wednesday.
Brenda Gillum, 304 W. Main St., told Jay County police that sometime Monday or Tuesday, a safe containing jewelry, cash and documents was taken from her home.
Also Wednesday, a teen-ager mowing the lawn at 204 W. Main St. noticed a window broken on the home and Jay County police were called.
An officer discovered damage to a window and door of the home, and evidence that the house had been ransacked.
Mary Sponheim, owner of the property, was contacted and she told Jay County police she would report missing items when she returned home.

Stolen
A rural Dunkirk resident told Jay County police that an item was taken from his truck while it was parked in his driveway Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.

David Clemmons, 4916 S. Arlington Ave., said a new cordless angle framing gun was taken from the unlocked vehicle.

Adams accident
A Geneva driver hit a deer in Adams County Monday afternoon.
Teresa S. Hirschy, 49, rural Geneva, was traveling south on U.S. 27 near county road 100 South when she hit a deer with her vehicle, causing $1,000 to $2,500 of damage.

In area courts
In Adams Superior Court, Adams County Memorial Hospital was granted $4,261.82 from James J. Harris, Pennville.
In Celina Municipal Court, Cody L. Kaiser, 20, 110 E. Wiggs, Fort Recovery, was fined and assessed costs of $208 for speeding.[[In-content Ad]]
