Meth arrests
Two rural Redkey residents were arrested Wednesday on methamphetamine charges after police allegedly discovered a meth lab at their home.
Jeffrey D. Decker, 46, and Raegean A. Decker, 47, both of 8377 W. 700 South, Redkey, were arrested after police executed a search warrant at the home.
Jeffrey Decker was arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class A felony, possession of precursors and a probation violation, both Class D felonies, and possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor.
Jay County police said that Jeffrey Decker would also be facing charges for possession of a firearm as a convicted violent felon, although that charge was not listed on the jail booking report as of this morning.
Raegean Decker was arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class A felony, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of precursors, both Class D felonies, and possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor.
The meth charges were elevated to A felonies due to police allegedly finding firearms at the residence.
Police were executing a probation search at the home when they allegedly discovered marijuana at the residence. Police then secured a search warrant and searched the rest of the property, allegedly discovered meth precursors and evidence of two different methods used for manufacturing.
Police said the alleged lab was not active at the time of the search.
The Jay County Sheriff’s Department, Portland Police Department, Indiana State Police, Jay County Probation and Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team and Tri-County Drug Task Force cooperated in the arrests.
Jeffrey Decker was being held this morning on a $100,000 bond, while Raegean Decker was being held on a $50,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]
