MISSING MONEY
A Portland couple reported to Portland police Wednesday that $1,000 was missing from their home.
Harland and Wilma Blankenbaker, 658 E. North St., discovered that the money was missing in early December 2003.
ITEMS MISSING
Two packs of cigarettes were missing when a Pennville couple arrived home on Wednesday night.
Wayne and Joy Ruble, 225 S. Washington St., told police that the cigarettes were stolen sometime between 1:30 and 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The screen door at the back of the home was open, but there was no evidence of forced entry into the home, Pennville police said this morning. Nothing else was reported missing.
AREA MISHAPS
A Portland driver was cited for failure to control his vehicle after an accident Monday afternoon in Mercer County.
Mercer County Sheriff’s Department reports said Cory Lee Dunmoyer, 17, Portland, was southbound on Lowry Road in Gibson Township when his 1976 Ford pick-up truck left the pavement and struck a mailbox and post.
The truck sustained moderate damage. The mailbox and post were owned by Alvin Kaup, 442 Lowry Road, Fort Recovery.
