Joseph Sprunger
Joseph N. Sprunger, 69, Fort Wayne, brother of a Geneva woman, died Tuesday in Fort Wayne.
Born in Decatur to Fenton and Mathilda Sprunger, he is survived by his wife Carolyn Sprunger.
Retiring in 1999, he was a teacher with Adams Central Schools for nine years and Southwest Allen County Schools for more than 25 years.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters; a son; a brother; a sister, Rosanna Wanner, Geneva; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Community Church of the Brethren in Fort Wayne with the Revs. Kent Koteskey and Ron Ramsey officiating.
Visitation is two hours prior to services at the church.

Alberta Weitzel
June 9, 1918-Jan. 17, 2010
Alberta Weitzel, 92, Sharpsburg, Ohio, the mother of a Fort Recovery man, died Monday at the Gardens at St. Henry (Ohio).
Born in St. Henry to Henry and Mary (Borgerding) Nieport, she was preceded in death on March 11, 1998, by her husband Albert Weitzel whom she married on April 22, 1941.
Surviving are two sons, including Norbert Weitzel (wife: Betty), Fort Recovery; five daughters; a brother; a sister; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sharpsburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Memorials may be sent to State of the Heart Hospice or American Heart Association.
