Burleson Sr.

Services were held today for Daniel Lee Burleson Sr., 63, Asheville, N.C., He died Monday in North Carolina.
Born in Buncombe County to Alma Elizabeth and Edward Clark Burleson Sr., he is survived by his wife Sandra Burleson.
He had lived in Pennville from 1995 until 2000 and worked at Saint-Gobain Containers in Dunkirk.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Daniel Lee Burleson Jr., Asheville; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Deborah Lynn) Davis, Candler, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. David (Kathy) Atwood and Mrs. Gary (Etta) Dillard; a brother, Edward C. Burleson Jr., Elkin, N.C.; a grandson and several cousins.
Anders-Rice Funeral Home in Asheville was in charge of the arrangements.

Rachel Michelle Fry was stillborn on Tuesday at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her parents Amanda L. (VanAmber) and Chad R. Fry, Muncie; grandparents Dolores Fry, Muncie, and Mike and Gwen VanAmber, Lansing, Mich.
Graveside services are Saturday at 3 p.m. at Lawndale Cemetery in Ridgeville with Pastor Jonathan Edwards officiating. MJS Mortuaries in Ridgeville is in charge of the arrangements.
Rhonda Ludy
Feb. 16, 1955-July 7, 2009
Rhonda A. Ludy, 54, Portland, died Tuesday at her son's home following an extended illness.
Born in Portland to Orla E. and Annabelle (Flory) Smith, she graduated from Portland High School in 1973 and earned an associate's degree in medical coding from I.P.F.W.
She had worked at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester since 2004 and had also worked at Jay County Hospital from 1988 to 1998, Paulding County Hospital from 1998 to 2004 and part time at Dick's Pizza in Portland for 15 years.
Memberships include V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary No. 2840 in Salamonia; Portland Eastern Star; Bellefountain United Methodist Church, where she was part of the youth ministries of the United Methodist Church for 20 years; and Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.).
Survivors include a son, Kyle K. Ludy, Indianapolis; her mother, Annabelle E. Smith, Portland; a brother, Jeff V. Smith, Portland; and three grandchildren.
Services are Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bellefountain United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Denney officiating.
Visitation is Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Sunday at the church.

Clara Knight
March 28, 1936-July 8, 2009
Clara LaVesta (McIntire) Knight, 73, Muncie, died Wednesday at her home.
Born in Muncie to Benjamin Franklin and Elnora Lowayne (Fruitt) Crater, she had worked at Wal-Mart in Muncie and was a member of the Church of God International.
Survivors include her husband Paul McIntire, Ridgeville; four daughters, Deborah V. Shenemen, McDonough, Ga., Patricia V. Bolton, Dunkirk, Ruth Ann Paul and Brenda L. Hutchens, both of Muncie; two brothers, Gene "Sonny" Coy, St. Louis, Mo., and Colin Lynch, Clemens, N.C.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hines officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Point Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to bairdfreeman.com.
Naomi Atterson

Naomi Helen Atterson, 87, Muncie, died Wednesday in Muncie.
Born in Jay County to Orlo and Mildred Longerbone, she grew up in Pennville.
Retiring in 2006 from the Volunteer Services office at Ball Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service, she had been a partner in Overhead Door in Hartford City and had done custom tailoring and alterations and made special occasion cakes with her daughter Linda.
Survivors include three daughters, Amelia Annette Atterson, Mrs. Don (Linda Lou) Sharp and Mrs. David (Mary Elaine) Hovis; a son, Robert Stacy; a brother, Dale Longerbone; five grandchildren and five great-grandsons.
Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with the Rev. Woody Noblitt officiating.
Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
