Services are pending at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland for George Edward Maitlen, 94, AmeriCare Living Center of Portland, who died this morning at Jay County Hospital.
He was a former resident of Sheffer Acres in Portland.
Marjorie Van Noy
Services are pending at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home for Marjorie L. Van Noy, 83, a former Portland resident, who died Wednesday at the Ironwood Rehabilitation Center in South Bend.
William Nuckols
William Ray Nuckols, 68, 7787 South 200 East, Portland, died Wednesday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born in Jay County on Oct. 27, 1936, to Russell and Thelma (Bales) Nuckols, he married Mary Allen in 1960. She survives.
He was a farmer.
Other survivors include: three brothers, Herbert Nuckols, Bryant, and Dick Nuckols and Jerry Nuckols, both of Montpelier; a sister, Carroll Miller, Bluffton, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are Monday at 10 a.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland with Pastors Steve Hildebrand and Dan Elzworth officiating. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to First Church of God.
Richard Muhlenkamp
Richard J. Muhlenkamp, 66, Fort Recovery, died Wednesday at his home.
Born in Celina, Ohio, on May 13, 1938, to Alfons and Alvina (Krieg) Muhlenkamp, he married Susan Remaklus on Jan. 25, 1969 in Coldwater, Ohio. She survives.
He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver for Minster Coop in St. Anthony, Ohio.
Memberships include St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he was an usher, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie in Coldwater, Ohio.
Other survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Chris (Tracy) Muhlenkamp and Tonia Muhlenkamp, both of St. Anthony, Ohio, Mrs. Todd (Tara) Buschur, Philothea, Ohio, and Mrs. Shawn (Tammy) Schneider, Coldwater, Ohio; a son, Jason Muhlenkamp, St. Anthony, Ohio; five brothers, Mark and Ron Muhlenkamp, both of Coldwater, Ohio, Roger Muhlenkamp, Flagstaff, Ariz., Dale Muhlenkamp, Tustin, Calif., and Bob Muhlenkamp, Portland; five sisters, Jean Bruns, Chickasaw, Ohio, Mrs. Charlie (Lori) Froning, St. Henry, Ohio, Dorothy Brockman, Fort Recovery, and Mrs. Don (Lucy) Beckstedt and Mrs. Dale (Carol) Laux, both of Celina, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.
Services are Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 until 9:45 a.m. at Brockman and Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery. Memorials may be sent to State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.

Diana Smith, 54, 115 E. Clark St., Portland, died Wednesday at her home.
Born in Jay County on June 22, 1950, she was the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Reynolds) Heniscey. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James Smith, Portland; a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Dawn) Keller, Portland; a brother, Russell Heniscey, Ridgeville; a sister, Pamela Hultz, Bluffton; and five grandchildren.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Green Park Cemetery Chapel.
Visitation is Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel.

Stephen P. Chase, 50, 416 E. Main St., Portland, died Wednesday at his home.
Born in Peoria, Ill. on Aug. 4, 1954, to Richard and Mary (Kinsinger) Chase, he graduated from Shimer College in Evanston, Ill. in 1976.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Portland.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Chase, Portland; three brothers, John R. Chase, Glendale, Calif., David N. Chase, Valhambra, Calif., and Daniel E. Chase, Las Vegas, Nev.
Services are Saturday at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Portland. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery.
