Sheree McLaughlin
Sheree McLaughlin, 48, 315 W. Seventh St., Portland, died Wednesday in the Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Born in Portland on Oct. 23, 1955 to Glen and Nancy (Gillespie) McLaughlin, she graduated from Portland High School in 1974.
She had worked at Wal-Mart and the Flower Nook, both in Portland, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her parents, Glen and Nancy McLaughlin, Portland; three brothers, Curt McLaughlin, Portland, Scott McLaughlin, Redkey, and Clint McLaughlin, Portland, and a niece.
Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin McClung and Sharon Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the donor’s choice.
Marie Leist
Services are Friday at 2 p.m. at M.J.S. Mortuaries-D.W. Jones Chapel in Dunkirk for Marie J. Leist, 77, West Wind Apartments, Dunkirk.
She died Wednesday at Miller’s Merry Manor in Dunkirk.
Born on April 29, 1927 to Dorothy (Cartwright) and Ab Roderick, she was married to Orville Leist, he died in 1986. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Terry Leist, Dunkirk; a brother, Fred Roderick, Hartford City; a cousin; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hartford City.
Memorials may be made to West Jay Community Building in Dunkirk.
Oatiss Marsh
Oatiss Keith Marsh, 83, Winchester, a native of Jay County, died Monday after a long illness.
Born in Portland on May 30, 1920 to Orvin and Daisy (Mann) Marsh, he graduated from Wayne High School in 1939 and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
His wife, Mary Jane (Caster) Marsh of 47 years, preceded him in death.
He was a farmer and then worked in engineering for Portland Drop Forge, Overmyer Mould, Winchester Mould and Armstrong Mould as a consultant for his son.
Marsh was an investor in the Stratosphere Casino Hotel in Las Vegas and had a plaque in the tower entrance.
Survivors include a sister, Reba Cook; a son, Thomas Marsh; grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are Saturday at 3 p.m. at Reitenour Cemetery, east of Ridgeville.
Military Rites will also be conducted.
Visitation is Saturday form 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester.
Richard Post
A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday for Richard J. “Dick” Post, 65, St. Henry, brother of Fort Recovery residents.
He died Saturday at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
Born on Aug. 16, 1938 in Wendelin, to Raymond and Adele (Koesters) Post, he was a farmer and worked at Mersman Brothers in Celina. He was also a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Surviving are five brothers, including Bob and Mark Post of Fort Recovery, and four sisters.
Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry was in charge of the arrangements.
Thomas Connally
Thomas M. Connally, 71, Bloomington (Lake Monroe), a former Indiana Glass manager, died on Wednesday at his home.
Born in Peru on Aug. 5, 1932 to Maurice and Mildred (Hackley) Connally, he graduated from Southside High School in Fort Wayne.
He also graduated from Ball State Teacher’s College in 1959 and was employed as an art teacher at Tipton High School and Middle School.
Connally also taught at Kuhner Junior High for Muncie Community Schools.
He later worked at Indiana Glass, Dunkirk, as Manager of Design and Product Development.
In 1968, he designed a line of handblown contemporary art glass called Greenwich Flint-Craft that is collected today.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sandra (Oppy) Connally, Bloomington; a daughter, Leslie Erin Hosier, Parker City; a son, Tyler Maurice Connally, Bloomington; six grandchildren; many brothers; nieces and nephews; and cousins.
Services are Friday at 7 p.m. at College Avenue United Methodist Church, Muncie.
Burial will be at the New Richmond Cemetery on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Visitation is Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. with Emily and Woody Sears and the Rev. Ken Puent officiating.
