A memorial service for Phillip Pavey, 58, New Castle, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. A former Dunkirk resident, he died Oct. 9 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born in Jay County, he was the son of Raymond and Bonnie Pavey.
Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Pavey, Portland; two sons, Phillip Pavey II, Berne, and Matthew Pavey, Hillsborough; a sister, Barbara Platt, Portland; a brother, Charles Pavey, Peru; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Frye
Dec. 2, 1918-Oct. 28, 2009
Mary Alice Frye, 90, Columbia City, a former resident of Jay County, died Wednesday at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
Born in Bluffton to Harry and Frances L. (Hughes) Ulmer, she graduated from Bluffton High School.
She was preceded in death on April 22, 2002, by her husband Forrest "Bud" Frye, whom she married on Oct. 12, 1935, in Decatur.
A member of the Nazarene Church in Columbia City, she had worked at Monsantos in Ligonier and was owner and operator, along with her husband, of Frye Grocery and Gas Station in Merriam for seven years.
Survivors include five sons, Richard Frye, Rome City, Larry Frye, Rochester, Roger Frye, Trion, Ga., Steve Frye, Bryant, and John Frye, Columbia City; a daughter, Mrs. John (Phyllis) Yeatts, Warren; a brother, John Ulmer, Warsaw; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City with Pastor Thomas Beers officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Columbia City.
Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Sandra J. Figley, 53, Van Wert, Ohio, died Saturday at her home of cancer. She was the stepmother of a Geneva woman.
Born in Van Wert to Frank B. and Arlene (Palmer) Hoffman, she is survived by her husband Keith L. Figley, whom she married on May, 1, 1981.
Other survivors include two sons; a daughter; a stepson; a stepdaughter, Lori Andrews, Geneva; her parents; her stepmother; two brothers; two sisters; five grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.
Private services will be held and there will be no visitation.
Memorials may be sent to Community Health Professional Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
Arrangements are being handled by Bayliff and Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, Ohio.

Services were held Wednesday for Albert Henry Boos, 88, Coldwater, Ohio, who died Saturday. He was a member of Fort Recovery First Church of Christ.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, to Henry and Olga (Hansen) Boos, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia (Rhodes) Boos.
Other survivors include a son; a daughter; a brother; a sister; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Earl Nusbaumer, 93, Keystone, the father of a Geneva man, died Tuesday at his home.
Born in Nottingham Township to Jesse Lee and Ora Alice (Sawyer) Nusbaumer, he is survived by his wife Mary Lou (Thomas) Nusbaumer, whom he married on Jan. 27, 1945.
Other survivors include a son, Darrel Nusbaumer, Geneva; three daughters; four sisters, including Juanita Fennig, Bryant; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Services are Friday at 2 p.m. at Walker and Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier. Burial will be in Stahl Cemetery in Bluffton.
Visitation is today from 2 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

Mary C. Link, 85, Celina, Ohio, the sister-in-law of Fort Recovery residents, died Saturday at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio.
Born in Fort Jennings, Ohio, to Joseph and Theresa (Bensman) Schlueter, she was preceded in death on March 28, 2006, by her husband Randolph J. Link, whom she married on Aug. 30, 1952.
Survivors include a son; two daughters; a sister; two brothers-in-law, Aloys Link and Lawrence Link, both of Fort Recovery; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass is Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Carthagena, Ohio.
Visitation is today from 2 to 8 p.m. and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater, Ohio.
