Romanell Lloyd

Romanell Lloyd, 89, 382 Lincoln Ave., Dunkirk, died Tuesday in the Jay County Hospital.

Born in New Castle on June 10, 1916, to Lewis and Edna (Lacy) Mullen, she graduated from Redkey High School in 1936.

She was married to James Harold Lloyd. He died in 1973.

Retiring from Indiana Glass after 30 years, she was a member of the Redkey Faith Ministries and also a member of Local Union No. 501 in Dunkirk.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet K. Lloyd, Dunkirk, and Jama N. Fager, Mahomet, Ill; a sister, Mrs. Marvin (Lorado) Craig, Winsor; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. in M.J.S. Mortuaries-D.W. Jones Chapel in Dunkirk. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie.

Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to the Redkey Faith Ministries.

Mary May

Mary E. May, 89, died Wednesday in the AmeriCare Living Center of Portland.

Born on Oct. 24, 1915, in Madison Township in Jay County, to Charles and Nora (Fifer) Wheeler, she married Lowell Golder on July 21, 1941. He died on June 16, 1944.

She later married Velda May on Aug. 12, 1946. He died on April 23, 1976.

She had worked at Jay Garment and was a member of Women of the Moose.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Janet L.) Schaffer, Portland; a son, Herbert May, rural Portland; a stepson, Robert May, Dunedin, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Bob (Frances) Leggett, Portland; a brother, Walter Wheeler, Monroe; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly officiating.

Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Fort Recovery.

Visitation is Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ralph Burnett

Ralph W. Burnett, 73, Fort Wayne, brother of a Dunkirk woman, died Tuesday.

He retired from Fred Toenges Shoe Repair after 30 years.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Margaret Burnett; his mother-in-law, Margaret Laturner; six children; four sisters, including Sister Mary Stevens, Dunkirk; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to Parkview Hospice or the Cancer Society.
