One injured
A two-car accident resulted in one injury and damage estimated at more than $10,000 Wednesday morning.
Doris A. Duke, 80, 1237 N. U.S. 27, Lot 130, Portland, was treated by emergency responders.
Duke, who was southbound on U.S. 27, attempted to turn left into a private drive just north of Portland at 11:12 a.m. Duke’s Honda Civic collided with a northbound Dodge Caravan driven by Rachel L. Hann Harlan, 27, 5359 Tompkins Ave., Cincinnati.
Hann Harlan’s vehicle was registered to Ean Holding Inc., 600 Corporate Park Dr., St. Louis, Mo.
Total damage to the vehicles and an Indiana Department of Transportation road sign was estimated between $10,000 and $25,000.
Backing out
Two vehicles collided Wednesday evening while backing out of their driveways.
Donald E. Hummer, 66, 927 W. Water St., Portland, told police he was backing out of his driveway at 4:58 p.m. and did not see a Ford Focus, driven by Caitlin E. Gilbert, 20, 4277 S. 250 West, Portland, which had just backed out of the driveway on the opposite side of the street.
Total damage to Gilbert’s vehicle and Hummer’s Chrysler LHS was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.
Deer struck
A Portland woman struck a deer Wednesday morning.
Molly E. Sanchez, 20, 1699 S. Blaine Pike, told police she was driving west on county road 800 South, near county road 100 West in Pike Township, at 8 a.m. when she struck a deer that ran in front of her car.
Total damage in the accident is estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.[[In-content Ad]]
