Time for hospitality (8/21/04)
Opinion
Volunteers from the Portland Area Chamber of Commerce stepped up to the plate Friday morning, taking part in a downtown clean-up effort so that the community can greet visitors to the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show at its best.
Now, it’s up to the rest of us.
Over the next week, Jay County will play host to tens of thousands of visitors. That provides a tremendous opportunity to show folks what sort of community this is.
It’s a chance to offer a smile. It’s a chance to offer assistance and information. And it’s a great chance to make new friends from all over the world.
Tri-State has called the Jay County Fairgrounds home for more than 35 years.
It’s been a great relationship, and it all started with hospitality. Jay County made the engine and tractor exhibitors feel welcome, and they kept coming back.
Continued hospitality guarantees that relationship will last for a long, long time. — J.R.[[In-content Ad]]
