The Jay County Summer Swim Team honored its top swimmers of the season Sunday at the Portland Pool.
Jay County won all its dual meets on the season, finishing a perfect 8-0 and also won the Wabash Valley Conference Championships for the third straight year on Saturday in Berne.
A total of 86 swimmers received trophies for their contribution to the team. A special recognition was given to the high-point swimmers in each age group.
Earning high-point honors for Jay County were: 8-and-younger — Mara Bader and Joshua Monroe; 9-10-year-old — Eliza Bader and Konner Sommers; 11-12-year-old — Kaitlyn Dow and Tayler Smeltzer; 13-14-year-old — Alex Bader and Alex LeMaster; 15-and-older Sophie Bader and Josh Lykins.
Rylee Clemmons was awarded the Jacqui Baxter Sportsmanship and Team Leadership award. Cassie Reno was the Rookie of the Year, and Luke Vormohr was honored with the Most Improved Swimmer Award.[[In-content Ad]]
