Community and Family Services, Inc., Head Start recently hosted a health and nutrition training class for family service workers.

The event was held April 19 and 20 at Jay County Public Library, Portland.

Those who attended the two-day workshop learned about basic medical, dental, mental health and nutritional care.

High ranking

Within the first year as a stand-alone company, Embarq has announced that its voice services rank highest among large enterprise business customers, according to a J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Major Provider Business Telecommunications StudySM. While four companies were officially ranked, more than 200 competitors were reviewed in the study including three of the largest telephone providers.

The company achieved this ranking by scoring highest overall with large enterprise businesses in several critical factors.

The study measures satisfaction among small, midsize and large business customers in the US. with local telephone service providers. Embarq received the highest ranking among large enterprise businesses. In all, 2,048 business customers in the U.S. participated in the study.

Add a stitch

Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5, the public is invited to assist in adding quilt stitches to the 25th anniversary quilt for State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice. A quilt frame is set up at the agency at 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, Ohio.

A Victorian patterned Queen/King top was designed and sewn by Linda McGlothin. The quilt, to be completed by June 1, will travel to many fairs and festivals to invite the public to participate in this even.

Quilt clubs or individuals who wish to quilt a few stitches in memory of a loved one may participate regardless of level of skill.
